Andrew Andrews-Ramirez
Born at March Air Force base in southern California, Andrew grew up mostly in Lake Tahoe, Nevada before he earned undergraduate degrees in Marketing and Retail Management from Syracuse University. Prior to Booth, Andrew spent 7 years in the Army National Guard, 5 of which were on Active Duty. After a deployment in 2008 to Afghanistan as an Infantry Platoon Leader, Andrew became a Program Manager for 3 1/2 years at the National Guard Bureau where he oversaw a $2.1B fund that facilitates the training and employment of 29,000 personnel. At Booth, he is an active member of the Management Consulting Group, Private Equity Group, Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital Group, and Armed Forces Group. This summer he is looking to intern with a private equity fund in Chicago and start a government contracting company with a fellow Booth classmate.
Beth McNamee
Beth is a second-year student concentrating in Economics, Finance, and Entrepreneurship. After graduation she plans to join Samsung's Global Strategy Group in Seoul, South Korea. Last summer she interned in PwC's Customer Impact Consulting group, and prior to her MBA, worked at McKinley Advisors, a consultancy serving professional and trade associations. At Booth, Beth has been involved as a DSAC Communications Co-Chair, a member of the Emerging Markets Group and an Engagement Coach for the Business Solutions Group. In her spare time, she enjoys taking improv classes at The Second City and spinning. Beth has a BA in History from the University of Virginia.
Farhan Ahmed
Farhan is a second-year student pursuing concentrations in Entrepreneurship, Economics and Managerial & Organizational Behavior. Prior to Booth, Farhan was a software engineer at Microsoft working in the Operating Systems group. While at Booth, he has served as a co-chair of the Booth Technology Group, as President of the Nobels cohort and as a member of the Graduate Business Council. This past summer he interned as a Product Manager at YCharts, a financial information services startup based in Chicago. After graduation, he is headed to CB Insights, an information analytics company in New York to lead the product team. Farhan graduated with Honors in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Mathematics from Lafayette College in Easton, PA.
Joanna Zisis
Communications Specialist - Joanna (Chat Moderator) joined the Chicago Booth Admissions Office in August 2007 as an associate director. In addition to serving as part of the Admissions Committee, Joanna works with Admissions marketing and content projects, including social media. Previously, she was the senior manager of admissions at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Joanna's experience in higher education also includes her positions as student advisor, program coordinator, and ESL instructor at Scuola Lorenzo DeMedici, an international university in Florence, Italy. She has also served as an account executive for marketing agencies in New York and Chicago.Originally from Ohio, Joanna received her bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio University and her MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Joanna, her husband and son live in downtown Chicago. She loves traveling the globe for Chicago Booth and meeting prospective students from all over the world.
Joanne Legler
Associate Director of Admissions - Joanne has been with Chicago Booth's Admissions Office since September of 2006. She is responsible for overseeing the Dean's Student Admissions Committee (DSAC), working on women's initiatives and other areas of diversity, and managing the Booth Scholars Program. She most enjoys reading applications and interacting with prospective students and loves the travel she gets to do to promote Chicago Booth.
Juan Rubio
Born in Spain, Juan earned his bachelor's degree in economics at CEU San Pablo University, Madrid. Prior to Booth, Juan spent four years in New York working for the investment banking division of BBVA, a Spanish bank. Juan moved to Chicago in August 2012 together with his fiancée, also a Booth student. At the school, he is a student representative and a Lead facilitator for the upcoming class. Juan is also the Booth rugby team captain and likes to spend his free time doing sports and traveling the world (whenever the Booth tight schedule allows it!). This summer he will be interning with Bain & Company, a consulting firm, at the Brussels office.
Lai-Nin Ninny Wan
Ninny is a first year at Booth focusing on operational and strategic management. She plans to go to Apple for her summer internship. Prior to Booth, Ninny worked in management consulting for Diamond Management & Technology Consultants and then PwC in the financial services vertical. She focused on projects involving mobile payments/banking, user experience and social media. Ninny holds a bachelor's degree in political science (with a minor in Portuguese) from the University of Notre Dame. She is a co-chair of Chicago Women in Business (CWiB).
Matt Richman
Matt is a first year student, concentrating in finance and accounting. Prior to Booth, he founded and managed the federal government/defense contracting division of a company which provides foreign language specialists and consulting. Before that he earned an MA in history from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in history from the College of New Jersey. This summer, Matt will be working for Rothschild in New York as an investment banking associate intern. Matt is a 2013-2014 Co-Chair for the Dean?s Students Admissions Committee (DSAC), and in his free time, enjoys training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Matt and his wife live in the South Loop.
Rushan Guan
Prior to Booth, Rushan spent five years working in consulting at Accenture, with a focus on customer relationship management (CRM). He plans to make a transition to the luxury retail industry. This past spring, Rushan interned at a Chicago-based fashion start-up, ZipFit Denim and this summer, worked in merchandising and planning for Coach in New York City.
